Illinois was an American watch maker founded in Springfield, Illinois, in 1870 as the Springfield Watch Company and renamed, after two reorganizations, in 1878, when the financier Jacob Bunn took charge. The Bunn family's name went on its best-known railroad grade, the Bunn Special. The Hamilton Watch Company bought the firm at the end of the 1920s, turned it toward wristwatches and closed the Springfield factory in 1932. (Wikipedia)
