Mido is a Swiss watchmaker founded in Biel in 1918 by Georges Schaeren, its name from the Spanish yo mido ("I measure"). Now part of the Swatch Group, Mido pioneered the shock-resistant, self-winding Multifort in 1934 and styles collections such as the Baroncelli and Ocean Star after landmark architecture; its COSC-certified Powermatic 80 calibers power the watches Kim Soo-hyun wears as the brand's Asia ambassador since 2020.
