Rado began in 1917 as Schlup & Co., a movement workshop in the Schlup brothers' parents' house at Lengnau, and took its present name in 1957. Since the 1962 DiaStar it has argued one idea harder than any other Swiss house: a case that does not scratch, first in tungsten-carbide hardmetal, later in high-tech ceramic. It belongs to the Swatch Group. (Wikipedia)
