Tradition was the house brand under which Sears, Roebuck sold its better watches from around the mid-1950s into the 1970s: dress watches at first, then skin divers and sport models built on Swiss movements from suppliers such as A. Schild, co-signed "Sears Roebuck Co." on the rotor, before the label gave way to cheaper Japanese-powered watches branded simply Sears. (Two Broke Watch Snobs; Fifth Wrist)
