Tutima traces to 1927, when Ernst Kurtz founded the Glashütte firms that built Germany's first flyback chronograph, the Calibre 59, standard equipment for Luftwaffe pilots by 1941. Production moved west to Ganderkesee after the war and returned to Glashütte only in 2011. The marque remains defined by rugged, instrument-legible pilot's chronographs built for NATO and Bundeswehr aircrew rather than dress-watch styling. (Wikipedia)
