A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Marielle Heller's drama, based on Tom Junod's Esquire profile "Can You Say... Hero?" Cynical magazine journalist Lloyd Vogel is assigned a puff piece on Fred Rogers, the beloved host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, expecting a quick, disposable interview. Rogers instead draws Lloyd into confronting his own unresolved anger toward his estranged, philandering father, Jerry, who abandoned the family while Lloyd's mother was dying.
