Watches

Hamilton Wilshire
Worn by Russell Crowe as John Nash. A rectangular Art Deco dress watch Hamilton built from 1939 to 1947, the Wilshire hangs its case on swivel-mounted lugs that let it pivot flat against the side of the wrist, the trick behind its "driver's watch" nickname. That production run covers the Princeton and MIT years the film moves through, though the credit fixes neither dial nor case execution. A round-cased watch is plainly visible on Nash's wrist in the film's later Princeton-return scenes; the frame does not resolve enough detail to confirm the Wilshire's rectangular case independently, so the model identification rests on Hamilton's own placement credit. Montres de Luxe independently corroborates the Hamilton Wilshire identification. (Hamilton; Montres de Luxe)
