A Cure for Wellness

Gore Verbinski's psychological horror film, written by Justin Haythe, sends ambitious young executive Lockhart (Dane DeHaan) to retrieve his company's chief executive from a wellness spa in the Swiss Alps run by Jason Isaacs's Dr. Volmer, where Mia Goth's Hannah is the only young patient. Rolex Air-King

Worn by Dane DeHaan as Lockhart. Lockhart's steel Rolex gets several close-ups. A Forumamontres member posted a frame of the heavily scratched watch in July 2017, and a second member added two close-ups in November 2017 whose dial reads Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision, reading the battered watch as a message from the director rather than product placement. The Hong Kong blog Watch Fever also identifies an Air-King, calls it reference 5700 from the 1970s, and notes that the dial reads 3:07 in three close-ups: at the reception desk, in the dentist's chair, and when Lockhart wakes three days after his car crash to find it stopped. The frames show a no-date dial with baton markers and a smooth bezel, which rules out the 5700, Rolex's Air-King-Date, and leaves the reference unresolved.
