At the End of the Matinee (マチネの終わりに) is a 2019 Japanese romantic drama directed by Hiroshi Nishitani, adapted from Keiichiro Hirano's novel of the same name and released November 1, 2019 through Toho. Masaharu Fukuyama plays Satoshi Makino, a celebrated classical guitarist, and Yuriko Ishida plays Yoko Komine, a Paris-based journalist; the two meet during one of Makino's tours and are drawn into a relationship complicated by distance and Komine's existing engagement, told across Tokyo, Paris, and New York.
