Captain Newman, M.D. is a 1963 Universal Pictures comedy-drama directed by David Miller. (IMDb) In 1944, Army psychiatrist Capt. Josiah Newman runs the neuropsychiatric ward of an Air Corps hospital in Colfax, Arizona, working to reach shell-shocked and traumatized airmen, among them a captain consumed by guilt over abandoning a comrade and a colonel who sent his own men to their deaths. Gregory Peck stars as Newman opposite Tony Curtis as orderly Cpl. Jake Leibowitz, Angie Dickinson as Lt. Francie Corum, Eddie Albert, Bobby Darin, and a young Robert Duvall.
