Watches
- Dick Tracy communicator watch
- Worn by Warren Beatty as Dick Tracy. Tracy's signature two-way wrist radio, the gadget the comic strip gave the character in 1946, recreated as a functioning prop for the film. Bonhams' own 2018 auction lot for a screen-used example states it was "recreated for the 1990 film starring Warren Beatty." (Bonhams) Heritage Auctions sold another in its Treasures from Planet Hollywood sale of March 2024, an "Original prop two-way radio watch with a silver metal face that includes a gold-colored "speaker," an off-white watch component, and 2-knobs on the side", on a black strap closed with Velcro and with "#06" engraved on the back, which suggests the production numbered a run of them. (Heritage Auctions lot 89866) A third example sold through Julien's Auctions as lot 740 of Hollywood: Classic & Contemporary, "An original communicator watch prop as associated with Warren Beatty's portrayal of "Dick Tracy"", an elongated silver-tone case with a mesh speaker and a cushion-shaped mother-of-pearl dial on a purple-stitched black strap, whose essay is candid that it "differs from the watch seen in close-up shots in the film", is "believed to be production made and may have been a prototype or worn in non close-up shots by Beatty or stuntmen or stand ins", and closely matches the GTI replica sold in Disney parks at release.
