Tsui Hark's American debut, a buddy action film released by Columbia Pictures on 4 April 1997, pairs counter-terrorism agent Jack Quinn (Jean-Claude Van Damme) with flamboyant arms dealer Yaz (Dennis Rodman) against the terrorist Stavros (Mickey Rourke); after a failed operation Quinn is held by a secret organisation and must escape it, with Natacha Lindinger as his wife Kathryn. Omega (unidentified model)

Worn by Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jack Quinn. Sports Hankook's survey of Omega on screen (12 August 2016) describes the scene in which the Colony's handlers give Jack Quinn a watch to wear from then on, telling him it carries a pager and tracks him and that he must answer when it signals; Quinn throws it into the sea when he escapes. The columnist's two-frame capture shows the watch being held up to him and, below, on his wrist: a round steel watch with a plain domed face on a steel bracelet. The competing catalog Watches in Movies had listed the same sighting, an Omega on Jack Quinn, from a reader submission in January 2012, with its own dial close-up in which the Omega wordmark and symbol show under the crystal and the pager display is drawn over the dial. The column's frames show no dial text and neither source names a model, so only the brand is confirmed; the pager is a fiction of the plot. (Sports Hankook; Watches in Movies)
