By 2154 the wealthy have abandoned a ruined, overcrowded Earth for Elysium, a pristine orbiting space station with medical technology that cures any injury or disease; dying factory worker Max Da Costa is smuggled a data upload that could crack Elysium's systems open and fights his way toward the station to save himself, and to force equal access to what it offers, before radiation poisoning kills him.
