Richard Loncraine's thriller for Warner Bros. Jack Stanfield runs computer security for a Seattle bank and built the defences no intruder has beaten, which leaves the system with exactly one exploitable flaw: its designer. When Bill Cox takes his wife and children hostage in their own house, Stanfield is forced to break into the network he wrote and move one hundred million dollars out of it, hunting for a gap in Cox's plan in the hours before the money is missed. Montres de Luxe identifies Stanfield's watch as an IWC pilot's watch, the Mark XV, the 1999 successor to the Mark XII that grew the case to 38 mm while keeping the line's concave lugs and its soft-iron inner shield against magnetic fields, an aviation feature that reads differently on a man who spends the film inside a bank's server rooms. The note stops at the model and adds no dial or bracelet detail. Ford, a working pilot off screen, returned to the same IWC model nearly two decades later as Dr. Paul Rhoades in Shrinking.
