The IWC Mark XV is the 1999 successor to the Mark XII and the reference that finally moved the Mark line off the 36 mm case it had carried since the Mark 11 of 1948, going to 38 mm with a date at three. Inside is IWC's calibre 30110, an ETA 2892-A2 reworked in Schaffhausen, sitting in a soft-iron inner case that shunts magnetic fields around the movement, which is the feature the military Mark 11 was built for and the one IWC never dropped. The dial keeps the flieger grammar the line is known for: matte black, luminous Arabic numerals, a triangle with two dots at twelve, and hands sized to be read at a glance in a cockpit. (IWC)
