Frantic (1988)

From IMWDb
Frantic

Roman Polanski's thriller, scored by Ennio Morricone. Richard Walker, an American surgeon in Paris for a medical conference with his wife Sondra, comes out of the shower to find her gone from their hotel room and no one willing to treat it as urgent. His search drags him across the rooftops and through the city's drug bars into a smuggling operation built around a triggering component for a nuclear weapon, carried in a suitcase swapped at the airport. Harrison Ford stars with Betty Buckley and Emmanuelle Seigner. (IMDb)

Watches

Rolex Datejust
Worn by Harrison Ford as Dr. Richard Walker. Montres de Luxe identifies Walker's watch as a steel Rolex Datejust on a Jubilee bracelet, and gives neither a reference nor a dial, which leaves the model and the bracelet settled and the size, bezel, and dial open. The Datejust earns its place by disposition rather than by any tool function: it is the self-winding date watch that reads as quiet professional success, exactly right on a surgeon at a conference, and increasingly out of place as the film pushes the same wrist through hotel roofs and nightclub back rooms. Nothing about the watch changes; everything around it does. (Montres de Luxe)
