The Rolex Datejust was the first self-winding wristwatch to show the date through a dial window when it arrived in 1945, and it has been shorthand for quiet success ever since. The line spans six decades of references: 36 and 41 mm cases, steel, two-tone Rolesor, and gold, fluted and smooth bezels, Jubilee and Oyster bracelets, so no single reference stands for it; the pictured modern 126234 in steel with a fluted white-gold bezel represents the configuration most readers picture.
