Norman Taurog's Technicolor musical comedy, a Hal Wallis production for Paramount Pictures. Honolulu-based fisherman Ross Carpenter dreams of buying back his late father's boat, the Westwind, after his boss announces plans to retire and sell it out from under him; caught between the earnest Laurel and the flirtatious nightclub singer Robin Gantner, Ross has to raise the money before someone else does.
