Joe Dante directs this horror comedy. Inventor Randall Peltzer, played by Hoyt Axton, buys his son Billy a strange creature called a mogwai as a Christmas gift, ignoring the seller's three inviolable rules; when those rules are broken, the mogwai spawns a horde of destructive, monstrous gremlins that overrun the small town of Kingston Falls.
