A cocky Navy test pilot volunteers for a miniaturisation experiment and is injected, pod and all, into a hypochondriac supermarket clerk, and the two must work together while industrial spies chase the technology through San Francisco. (IMDb) Directed by Joe Dante and produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment for Warner Bros., the 1987 comedy stars Dennis Quaid as Lieutenant Tuck Pendleton, Martin Short as Jack Putter and Meg Ryan as Lydia Maxwell, with Kevin McCarthy, Fiona Lewis, Vernon Wells and Robert Picardo; it won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Worn by Dennis Quaid as Lt. Tuck Pendleton. Fratello's founder Robert-Jan Broer, walking GQ through Omega's screen history, said of Quaid's Speedmaster in Frequency that "The actor wore this exact watch in 1983's The Right Stuff (as one of NASA's first astronauts) and in 1987's Innerspace." Quaid, Broer added, "wasn't and isn't an ambassador" and was "likely wearing his own watch". The Speedmaster is therefore recorded on the Professional page the The Right Stuff and Frequency rows already use; Broer's "likely" on the ownership survives here, no reference is given, and no frame has been matched.
