Francis Veber's farce, his own remake of Édouard Molinaro's 1973 L'Emmerdeur (with Lino Ventura and Jacques Brel), adapted from Veber's play Le Contrat. Hitman Ralph Milan checks into a Nice hotel room overlooking the courthouse to carry out a contract killing, only for the suicidal, hapless neighbor in the next room, press photographer François Pignon, to flood the bathroom and drag Milan into his personal disasters at the worst possible moment. Richard Berry stars as Milan opposite Patrick Timsit as Pignon, with Virginie Ledoyen. Released internationally as A Pain in the Ass. (IMDb)
