James Mangold's film, the third Wolverine solo picture and the tenth in the X-Men series, takes its premise from the Old Man Logan comics: an aged Logan and an ailing Charles Xavier protect a young mutant, Laura, from the Reavers. Hugh Jackman plays Logan opposite Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen, in her film debut, with Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant and Stephen Merchant. It premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival on 17 February 2017, opened in the United States on 3 March, grossed $619.2 million and became the first live-action superhero film nominated for a screenwriting Academy Award. Wrist Enthusiast's survey of superhero-film watches writes that Logan is seen "wearing a unique prop watch by Red Monkey", illustrated with a photograph of the watch credited "Courtesy of Prop Store Auction", and adds that Red Monkey "appears to have made accurate copies" of it for sale, linking the studio's X-Strap Watch with an olive vintage dial.
