Mars Attacks! (1996)

From IMWDb
Mars Attacks!

Tim Burton's ensemble black comedy for Warner Bros., built from the 1962 Topps trading-card series of the same name. Martian spacecraft arrive professing peace, then open fire and begin an invasion, and the film follows Americans through it from the White House to a Las Vegas casino. Jack Nicholson plays both the president and a Las Vegas developer, alongside Glenn Close, Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michael J. Fox, Natalie Portman, Martin Short, Rod Steiger and Tom Jones. (IMDb)

Watches

Rolex watch
Worn by Danny DeVito as Rude Gambler. The identification here comes from the dialogue rather than from the dial. Cornered by a Martian in the Las Vegas casino, DeVito's gambler pulls the watch off his wrist and holds it out, telling the alien to take it because it is a Rolex, and is disintegrated anyway. That names the maker and nothing else: no model, reference, metal or case shape is established, and nothing short of a legible dial or bezel would narrow it. The brand the gambler shouts is the whole of what the film confirms, and no Oyster reference can be read back into a watch it never shows. IMDb credits the role as the Rude Gambler; Wikipedia's cast list names the character Joe Weinberg. (Montres de Luxe)
