Through the Burma raid Rambo wears a PVD-blacked Panerai Luminor Marina Militare on a dark strap, the matte finish doing what a soldier's watch should: refusing to throw light back at anyone hunting the treeline. Stallone's long association with Panerai, including custom pieces made to his order, makes the choice read as the actor's taste as much as the character's. Contemporary coverage stopped short of pinning a catalogue reference to it, describing the piece as custom or very rare. Montres de Luxe independently identifies the same black-PVD Luminor Marina.
