Worn by James Stewart as L.B. "Jeff" Jefferies. Wheelchair-bound through his convalescence, Jeff wears a small steel Tissot 6440-3 with Art Deco Arabic numerals, its repeated close-ups marking the passing days as he surveils the neighbour he suspects. Collectors long catalogued it as a "referenceless" Tissot until the 6440-3 case number was identified. (Omega Forums) Montres de Luxe independently identifies the same round Tissot with a white dial, Arabic numerals, and a brown leather strap, and reads a clear close-up of the dial at 1:55. (Montres de Luxe) BAMF Style describes the same manual-winding steel Tissot from the close-up against Jeff's second pair of pajamas: a silver dial with gold-filled Deco numerals, small black five-minute figures at the edge, gold hands and a red arrow tip on the seconds hand, on a worn brown strap with beige edge stitching. It observes that the production blacked out the Exakta name on Jeff's camera and left the Tissot dial alone. (BAMF Style) Hodinkee names Tissot without a reference, describes thick printed Arabic numerals, a curvaceous case, a red arrow-tipped seconds hand and a dial bare but for the wordmark, and notes the watch looks decidedly worn for 1954; it times the massage-table look at 00:11:24 and the full-frame close-up at 00:30:34, where the dial reads 1:55 and the picture fades to black and back with the watch at 2:34 as a transition, and adds the glimpse as Jefferies hangs from his window ledge.
