A disciplined Moscow police captain teams with a wisecracking Chicago detective to hunt a Georgian drug lord who has fled to the United States. (Wikipedia) Directed by Walter Hill, the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Captain Ivan Danko opposite Jim Belushi as Detective Art Ridzik; Carolco Pictures produced it and Tri-Star released it June 17, 1988.

In the film's closing scene, Ridzik unhooks his own watch and hands it to Danko as a token of friendship, calling it a "thousand-dollar marvel of Western technology" as Danko trades him a cheap Soviet timepiece in return. BAMF Style identifies the watch Ridzik gives away as a Rolex Day-Date, though it does not resolve a specific reference. Montres de Luxe instead calls it a Rolex Datejust in steel on a jubilee bracelet, again without supporting detail; the two sources disagree on the model family and neither documents the reference, leaving Day-Date and Datejust as unresolved alternatives.
