Shield of Straw

A wealthy businessman offers a billion-yen bounty for the death of the man who murdered his granddaughter, and the five detectives assigned to deliver the confessed killer across Japan by train find themselves guarding him from a country full of would-be assassins. (IMDb) Takashi Miike directed the 2013 thriller for Toei, adapting Kazuhiro Kiuchi's novel; it premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival. Takao Osawa leads as detective Kazuki Mekari alongside Nanako Matsushima as fellow detective Atsuko Shiraiwa, Tatsuya Fujiwara as the suspect Kunihide Kiyomaru, and Tsutomu Yamazaki as the bereaved Ninagawa.
