IW379901: 46 mm of black high-tech ceramic with matte grey titanium crown, pushers and caseback, a split-seconds chronograph on the calibre 79230, and a soft-iron inner case shielding the movement against magnetic fields. The scale is the point: an oversized matte-black instrument on a chemically enhanced field operative, closer to issued equipment than to jewellery, and a deliberate break from the anonymous wrists of the earlier Bourne films. IWC had already discontinued the reference by the time the film opened in August 2012, which made the screen appearance the last wide look most people got at it.
