Iko Uwais leads as the rookie officer Rama, with Joe Taslim as the squad's sergeant Jaka, Ray Sahetapy as the crime lord Tama Riyadi and Yayan Ruhian as his enforcer Mad Dog; Uwais and Ruhian choreographed the pencak silat fights themselves.
