Ryoo Seung-wan writes and directs this South Korean action comedy (Korean: 베테랑), pitting veteran police detective Seo Do-cheol (Hwang Jung-min) against Jo Tae-oh (Yoo Ah-in), the sadistic heir to a powerful conglomerate who beats a truck driver into a coma and expects his family's money to bury the case. The film drew more than 13.4 million admissions, making it the fifth highest-grossing release in South Korean box-office history, and later spawned the 2024 sequel I, the Executioner. Timeforum specialist Torino's 2015 Q4 "매체속의 시계들" (Watches in Media) roundup identifies Yoo Ah-in's Navitimer (black dial, three white subdials, slide-rule bezel) and notes a continuity detail across the film's runtime: "유아인씨는 저렇게 네이비타이머를... 줄도 가죽줄에서 브레슬로 갈아끼면서 출연했구요" (Yoo Ah-in's Navitimer, its strap swapped from leather to a steel bracelet as the film goes on).
