Celebrated lawyer Luc Germon believes he has reached the pinnacle of his career when Gilles Fontaine, one of France's most powerful businessmen, asks him to take his defense: Fontaine is suspected of acquiring a magnificent Côte d'Azur property, the Villa Caprice, under distinctly dubious circumstances. Humiliated at having been outmaneuvered, Fontaine counts on Germon's skill to extract him from the affair, but a strange power dynamic soon takes hold between the two men.
