Warrior (2011)

Warrior

Gavin O'Connor's drama sets two estranged brothers on course to meet in Sparta, a winner-takes-all mixed martial arts tournament in Atlantic City: Tommy (Tom Hardy), a former Marine, and Brendan (Joel Edgerton), a physics teacher about to lose his house. Nick Nolte plays their father Paddy Conlon, a recovering alcoholic whom Tommy takes on as trainer and nothing more, a part that brought Nolte an Academy Award nomination. Lionsgate released it in September 2011. (IMDb) (Wikipedia)

Watches

Casio Databank

Worn by Nick Nolte as Paddy Conlon. Premiere Props sold the watch on 11 December 2011 (lot 634) as "Warrior - Paddy (Nick Nolte) screen used, hero, black with digital face 'Casio' wristwatch". The catalogue stops at the maker. Probable identification. The lot photograph shows a black resin case with ILLUMINATOR across the top and CASIO and DATA BANK printed above a three-line display, the face of the DB-36 series; no reference is legible, so the row stays on the family page. Paddy is the brothers' father, a recovering alcoholic who trains Tommy for the Sparta tournament. (Premiere Props lot 634)
