Casio Databank

The Casio Databank family began with 1984's CD-40, which added storage for ten phone numbers to the keypad concept of 1980's C-80 calculator watch and sold roughly six million units in its first five years. The line ran through the resin CA-50 of 1984, worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future (1985), and the CA-53W of 1988, while later Data Bank models expanded the telememo format. An eight-digit display over a grid of rubber keys became one of the most recognizable wrist silhouettes of the 1980s, and Casio has never stopped making it: the stainless-steel CA-500WE pictured here returned the design to the Vintage catalog in 2023.
