Caster (キャスター) is a 2025 Japanese television drama that aired in TBS's Sunday Theater (日曜劇場) slot from April 13, 2025, across ten episodes. Hiroshi Abe stars as Shindo Souichi, a public-broadcaster social-affairs reporter of fifteen years who is recruited by commercial network JBN to anchor its struggling news program "News Gate," working alongside producer Hana Sakikubo (Mei Nagano) and assistant director Yusuke Motohashi (Shuntaro Michieda) to chase stories the station would rather bury. A third blog, cowtotai, independently reaches the same brand and model for the episode 1 newsroom scene but hedges its call as "highly likely" (である可能性が高いです) rather than asserting it outright.
