Cold Case (コールドケース ～真実の扉～, Cold Case: Shinjitsu no Tobira) is a WOWOW mystery drama that ran from October 22 to December 24, 2016 across 10 episodes, the first season of Japan's licensed adaptation of the American procedural Cold Case, the first Cold Case remake produced outside the United States. Set in a Kanagawa Prefecture cold-case unit, the season follows detective Yuri Ishikawa (Yo Yoshida) after a witness comes forward about a 1996 murder long filed as unsolved. Tomokazu Miura plays Hidetoshi Motoki, the unit's veteran section chief, alongside Ken Mitsuishi as detective Toru Kaneko, Kenichi Takito as detective Daisuke Tachikawa, and Kento Nagayama as rookie detective Shinjiro Takagi, all of whom returned for the franchise's second season.
