Doctor-Y: Surgeon Hideki Kaji (ドクターY～外科医・加地秀樹～) is the sixth annual installment of TV Asahi's Doctor-X spinoff franchise, a single 114-minute special that aired 7 October 2021. Masanobu Katsumura stars as Hideki Kaji, the "wizard of laparoscopy" whose surgical skill is increasingly undercut by age, here transferred to a Yokohama branch hospital after his previous posting collapsed. Shinnosuke Mitsushima guest-stars as Kohei Rokusha, a billionaire e-commerce founder diagnosed with terminal acute hepatitis, who searches for the birth mother he needs as a liver donor after spending his childhood in an orphanage.
