Laughing Matryoshka (「笑うマトリョーシカ」) is a 2024 TBS political suspense drama adapted from Kazumasa Hayami's 2021 novel of the same name, which won the Mystery Writers of Japan Award. Sho Sakurai plays Ichiro Seike, a telegenic young politician tipped as a future prime minister, opposite Tetsuji Tamayama as his enigmatic secretary Toshiya Suzuki; Asami Mizukawa plays the newspaper reporter Kanae Michiue, who digs into a string of unexplained deaths that trail Seike's rise and finds her own father's death tangled in them.
