Night Doctor (ナイト・ドクター) is a 2021 Fuji Television Getsuku (Monday 9pm) drama following five emergency physicians, led by Mitsuki Asakura (Haru) and Kei Tanaka's Akihito Naruse, who staff a hospital's overnight emergency department under a "never refuse a patient" policy. Airing from June 21 to September 13, 2021, the series uses its nightly emergency-medicine setting to dramatize Japan's then-upcoming 2024 physician work-hour reform and the strain it was expected to place on hospitals already running short-staffed after dark.
