Okome no Onna (おコメの女－国税局資料調査課・雑国室－, literally "The Woman of Kome: National Tax Agency Research and Investigation Division, Miscellaneous Affairs Room") is a nine-episode drama that aired in TV Asahi's Thursday 21:00 slot from 8 January to 5 March 2026, marking Nanako Matsushima's first leading role in over a decade. She plays Seiko Yoneda, an elite investigator in the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau's Research and Investigation Division, nicknamed "Kome" for the rice radical in its kanji and known as the last line of defense against large-scale tax evasion; Yoneda founds a new unit within it, the Complex Tax Case Processing Office ("Zakkoku"), staffing it with skilled but unconventional investigators to pursue cases the main division cannot crack.
