Ryusei Wagon ("Shooting Star Wagon") is a 2015 TBS Sunday Theatre drama in 10 episodes, adapting Kiyoshi Shigematsu's 2002 novel of the same name. Hidetoshi Nishijima plays Kazuo Nagata, a 43-year-old salaryman whose life has come apart at every seam: he is pushed out of his job, his wife Miyoko (Haruka Igawa) wants a divorce, and his son Hiroki (Kota Yokoyama) has turned violent at home. Late one night a wine-colored station wagon pulls up, driven by Yoshiaki Hashimoto and his son, a father and son who died in a traffic accident five years earlier; riding with them carries Nagata back through pivotal nights of his own past, including encounters with his late father Tadao (Teruyuki Kagawa) at the same age Nagata is now, as he searches for where his family started to break.
