A group of vigilantes set out to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their superpowers. (IMDb) Developed by Eric Kripke for Amazon Prime Video from the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic, the series premiered in July 2019 in a world where superpowered "supes" are managed as marketable property by the conglomerate Vought International. Karl Urban's Billy Butcher pulls Jack Quaid's Hughie Campbell into a crew set against Vought's flagship team, the Seven, fronted by Antony Starr as Homelander and Erin Moriarty as Starlight. Butcher's Luminox is the blacked-out 3501.BO (the "BO" stands for Black Out), a Navy SEAL-series diver in a carbon-reinforced polymer case on a black rubber strap, with white markers the only relief anywhere on it and the self-powered low-light illumination the line was built around. It is a sub-$300 tool watch on a man who runs on grudges and improvised violence, and the all-black case reads on screen as case shape rather than legible branding, so the identification rests on the model's silhouette rather than on a dial or caseback ever being shown.
