THE DAYS is a 2023 Netflix Japanese original series, an eight-episode dramatization of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster based on Ryusho Kadota's book On the Brink: The Inside Story of Fukushima Daiichi. Koji Yakusho plays Masao Yoshida, the plant's real-life manager, whose crews fought to keep four reactors from a full meltdown after the March 2011 tsunami disabled the plant's cooling systems; the series intercuts his account with the perspectives of government officials and corporate leadership over the same seven days.
