The Diamond Sleeping in the Sea (海に眠るダイヤモンド) is a 2024 Japanese mystery drama spanning 70 years, from the coal-mining boom on Nagasaki's Hashima Island (Gunkanjima) in 1955 to present-day Tokyo. Ryunosuke Kamiki plays a dual role as Ryohei, a laborer dispatched to the island in 1955, and Reo, a modern-day host who is approached by a mysterious woman named Izumi (Nobuko Miyamoto) and drawn into the mystery of his own past.
