The Naked Director (全裸監督) is a Netflix Original Series dramatizing the career of Toru Muranishi (Takayuki Yamada), the real-life director who built Japan's adult-video industry in the 1980s and 90s, adapted from Nobuhiro Motohashi's biography of the same name. Season 1 premiered in 2019; season 2 streamed from June 24, 2021, following Muranishi's push to launch his own satellite television channel and the financial and personal fallout that follows. The season-two ensemble adds Rie Miyazawa, Masatoshi Nagase, and Tsuyoshi Ihara alongside returning cast Shinnosuke Mitsushima, Misato Morita, and Tetsuji Tamayama. (TMDB)
