Ultraman Gaia (ウルトラマンガイア) is the tenth series in Tsuburaya Productions' Ultra Series, made with the Mainichi Broadcasting System with Chiaki J. Konaka as series composer and broadcast on the JNN network across 51 episodes from September 5, 1998 to August 28, 1999. The young scientist Gamu Takayama, recruited into the aerial defence team XIG, becomes the red Earth-born Gaia while the blue Agul takes the ocean's side, two Ultramen at odds over whether humanity deserves saving; it closed the trilogy of 1990s series that began with Ultraman Tiga.
