Ya Boy Kongming! is Fuji Television's live-action adaptation of Yuto Yotsuba's manga, which had already been adapted into an anime series the previous year, broadcast in the network's Thursday-10 drama slot from 27 September to 29 November 2023. Osamu Mukai stars as the legendary Chinese strategist Zhuge Kongming, reincarnated in modern Shibuya after his death fourteen centuries earlier, who applies his military tactics to turn aspiring singer Eiko Tsukimi (Moka Kamishiraishi) into a music star. Mirai Moriyama plays Kobayashi, the flamboyant, leopard-print-suited owner of the livehouse BB Lounge and an obsessive Romance of the Three Kingdoms devotee who becomes one of Kongming's earliest allies in the music industry.
