Bohemia Interactive's sequel, released for Windows in mid-2009 and set in the fictional Eastern European nation of Chernarus during a civil war between the government and communist insurgents. The player fights as part of a US Marine Corps intervention force, and the series' equipment simulation deepens: the watch becomes a standalone wearable inventory item rather than an always-available HUD overlay. - Arma 2 keeps the same watch design as its predecessor but changes how it's carried: Bohemia Interactive designer Karel Mořický's 2024 retrospective states "Both Arma: Armed Assault and Arma 2 shared the same timepiece - Stocker & Yale 490, actual military watch manufactured to US specification MIL-W-46374." A developer statement establishing the design source, and the Armed Assault Wiki notes that in Arma 2 the watch became a wearable inventory item required to tell time, its markers now glowing green under low light, while remaining aesthetically unchanged from Armed Assault's default watch.
