Sarah gives Joel the field watch for his birthday on the night the outbreak begins (deadpanning that she paid for it by selling "hardcore drugs"), and hours later dies in his arms; Joel wears it through both games with the crystal cracked and never replaced, the series' central keepsake. Real-adjacent identification: the unbranded game model most closely follows the Lüm-Tec Super Combat B2's fluted bezel, large Arabic numerals, sword hands, small seconds at 6 o'clock, and green NATO strap, though its dial is altered and it is not a licensed Lüm-Tec placement.
