The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 is the watch that relaunched the Glashütte manufacture in October 1994, its dial built on the golden section with an off-centre hour-and-minute subdial, a small seconds and a power-reserve indicator balanced against the outsize date the maker took from the five-minute clock of the Dresden Semper Opera. The first generation ran the manual calibre L901.0 with a three-day reserve; the second, introduced in 2015, keeps the layout on the thinner calibre L121.1 in a 38.5 mm case offered in yellow gold as reference 191.021, in pink and white gold and in platinum.
