The Ball Fireman Night Train (reference NM1092C-L1B-BK) is a 43 mm field watch from Ball's Fireman line, named for the railroad workers who stoked steam locomotives' fireboxes. Its stainless steel case and bezel carry a black diamond-like carbon coating and hold the automatic Ball Calibre 124, a decorated ETA 2824-2, driving hours, minutes, seconds, a date, and a red-tipped 24-hour hand reading off an orange "Universal Military Time" track. (Wing Wah Watch) Sixty-three micro gas tubes light the hands and dial, and Ball's own release cautions against adjusting the time between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., when the date wheel is mid-changeover and vulnerable to damage. (Watchbus) It is water resistant to 100 metres, shock rated to 5,000Gs, and wears on a black rubber strap.
